Crossbows

The crossbow was introduced in the latter half of th 4th century BC for military purposes and are still in use today in some Asian countries. They were heavily used by Alexander and the Roman Empire. Until around 1500 AD the crossbow had replaced the longbow throughout Europe. Unlike the longbow the crossbow required little training and practice. Little wonder it became the primary bw in Europe.
