Greek, Roman and Medieval Helmets
Medieval Helmets like the ancient helmets varied in style but served the same purpose, to protect the warrior. Certain styles and ornaments also were used to show rank on the battle field. Roman helmets are a great example. Romans used plums and crest to denote rank. This made it easier for soldiers to know where their officers were.
Medieval helmets incorporated visors and plates to protect more of the head and face. They also became more decorative with the use of etching and engravings.
Here are our functional and wearable replicas of Greek, Roman, Lord of the Rings, fantasy and medieval helmets. They are made from 16 to 18 gauge steel and brass. Also offered are Arming Caps for use with chain mail and helmets.
