This Side-Ring Sword, possibly Italian, was one of a group of swords included in the annual tribute paid by King John II of Cyprus after his father’s defeat by the Mamluk Sultan Al Ashraf Sayf al-Din Barsbay in 1452. This sword is equipped with a forefinger ring used for stability and has an Arabic inscription on the blade.
