Here is the most diverse line of swords styles in history. From the more well known ninja and samurai swords to the Chinese Long Swords and Sabers, Oriental Swords represent the largest and most popular swords available.
The Jian or Chinese Long sword has been in use for the past 2500 years in china. It is a double edged single handed sword with an 18 to 32 inch blade. One of the most popular Chinese models is the Tai Chi Sword used in the martial art. There are many other styles from huge Chinese war swords to the Dao or Chinese Sabers.
Some of the most popular swords are the Japanese swords. Many Samurai and Ninja swords have become famous not only through historical recollections but from our entertainment industry. The samurai sword or katana was developed in the 1400s for the emerging samurai culture in Japan. The Samurai sword or Katana were used for out door combat and was generally 34 to 40 inches long. Later the katana was paired with the wakizashi, a shorter sword and a tanto or samurai dagger for indoor use.
